God's Knowledge 9item If Allah (awj) is omniscient, why does He need to test mankind? Some readers say that today some materialist people raise objection whose complete answer is not in our knowledge. You are requested to give a satisfactory reply: “It is possible that we accept system of the Universe depended on the wise and powerful Creators. But for the existence and continuity of this system there is no need for the Creator because when the Creator of the universe has made it in proper measure and subject to the system of cause and effect, whether the creator remains or not, this system will endure. It is in the same way like a watch that shows the correct time. It will continue to tick even if its maker is no more. A space rocket moves ahead in space year after year and continues to send reports to us While those who had made it are not alive. Allah says in the Holy Quran: "Who created death and life that He may try you - which of you is best in deed" . Now the question is that testing is required by one who is not aware of something and one who is not aware of the result. While for Allah apparent and hidden is all same and whatever it is in the Heavens and the earth; nothing is hidden from Him. Then why is it necessary for Him to test His servants? What is badā’ and why do you believe in it? God knows from eternity that human being will do sin, is this eternal knowledge of God, the cause of predestination? In Surah Ankabut, Allah says: “And certainly We tried those before them, so Allah will certainly know those who are true and He will certainly know the liars” ( 29:3) and most certainly Allah will know those who believe and most certainly He will know the hypocrites. (29:11) If Allah is all-Knowing, why then does He try us in order to know our belief? Can other than Allah (swt) be aware of the unseen, and if it is possible, then why has it been allocated solely to Allah (swt) in surah Luqman? I would like to know if God is aware of the future. If He is, why didn’t he help the Prophet in battle so he would not lose, prevent him from eating poisoned food, or avoid Fatima’s death in the manner which she was martyred? How can we get to know God and rely on and truly love him?
