Purgatory 3item Please explain the Shia viewpoint about the Purgatory (Barzakh)? My question is regarding this. There are millions in their graves wishing to come back to life only to prostrate to Allah one more time. This was a post I saw on the internet just to convince people to come towards prayer. So I wanted to ask whether there is any authentic saying or some proof that there are such people in graves who wished they had prayed and obeyed to Allah during their life? Where are the spirits of people who have died in very remote times e.g. the time of Prophet Ibrahim (a.s) or during the Sassanid government, the Safavi period and in recent times? I am asking this question because we believe the spirits of people have to wait until they are held responsible for their deeds on the Day of Reckoning or the day when people are held accountable for their deeds? In fact, there are good and bad, educated and uneducated people, artists, mystics, clerics, and scientists among them who have lost their lives? Have they all been gathered in the same place? How have they been sorted out and categorized? Do the alms we give and the charity we set up on their behalves have any impact on their lives in the Hereafter? Aren't their spirits contained in a place and doesn't time run on them?
