Is it proper to recite ‘Salawat’ during an Islamic Scholar’s entry in the mosque or a majlis?

Answer:
It is appropriate because Salawat is not recited for the scholar. It is a supplication and the best means of remembering and expressing one’s love for Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his AhlulBayt (a.s.). The rewards, which the reciter of Salawat receives, are immeasurable. To recite Salawat when a scholar enters a place is showing one’s respect for them, which is doubly rewarding. - Sayyed Mohammed Musawi
