How can Islam regulate modern life, since it has no similarity with the simple life of 14 centuries ago?

Answer:
It is a misconception that Islam contains only a number of fixed regulations and injunctions. There are laws which pertain to man’s nature and hence they are universal & unchangeable as long as man exists. But it also comprises general principles which can address the changing human circumstances and means. If there was no flexibility in secondary decrees. Islam would not have recommended people to consult one another. Hence Islam is the only comprehensive religion which can ensure a progressive, just, happy and peaceful society for human beings.
